Local estate agents in Weston have seen demand for properties outstrip supply after the pandemic, with that trend continuing. Many of those buyers were from Bristol who have sought larger homes but could not do so in the city and a move to Weston still allows them an easy commute to their place of work.

According to recenet data from removal comparison website "CompareMyMove", 71.2% of inquiries from people seeking a move to Weston came from people moving from Bristol.

Compare My Move director, Dave Sayce, said: “Because of its transport links to London, Bristol has seen an influx of movers over the last year, this will likely lead to a boom in population and overcrowding, so there’s never been a better time to cash in, and Weston-super-Mare is a fantastic place to do so"

“28 minutes away on the train and 40 minutes in the car, you’ll still be in commuting distance of Bristol, but having that extra bit of profit from selling your house could make the world of difference.”

Camilla Brewis; founder and managing director of award winning brokerarge Beewiswe FS Ltd said "With Weston house prices lower than those in Bristol, we often get Bristol-based clients who can’t afford to buy property in their home town and want to relocate. Or, they could be professionals looking to get larger homes for less.

Weston is only half an hour away on the train, and mortgage interest rate rises, people are looking to save money with Weston being an opportunity to do that. At Beewise FS Ltd we calculate the maximum borrowing for clients, plus expected monthly payments, before they start viewing.

We often see clients buying larger homes in Weston for their budget, then commuting to work in Bristol. Weston has many different areas with lots of new properties, as well as older homes with character that clients are attracted to."

Mrs Brewis continued; "We always encourage clients to explore all options before committing to a purchase and are on hand throughout the homebuying process from start to finish. If you're looking to buy your first home, relocate or remortgage, call 01934 204841 or email info@beewisefs.co.uk"
