Weston school collects whopping 847kgs of food for those in need this Christmas


Big hearted students, parents, staff and the local community have donated a huge amount of food and items to Priory Community School Academy, part of The Priory Learning Trust, for the local Foodbank.


The food, which weighed in at an impressive 847 kilograms will be given to local families through the Weston Foodbank, which is part of the Trussell Trust.


Principal Angelos Markoutsas said: “Every year our students, parents, staff, academy and community astonish me with the levels of their giving. This was a colossal amount. We are delighted to support such a wonderful charity with these essential items.”

Neville Coles, CEO of The Priory Learning Trust said: “This is terrific generosity for such a great cause. Thank you to everyone who donated.”


Weston Foodbank manager Frederique Wigmore said "We are delighted to see how much support we have been receiving from our community and from the parents, staff and students of Priory School in these testing times for everyone"
