Welcome to Weston Indy News!

2020 has been an odd year to say the least.

We've all had to come to terms with the situation we find ourselves in of being unable to live life as we want to, whilst all the time learning an enhanced vocabulary to narrate the situation; with "lockdown", "self-isolation" and "track & trace" the buzzwords for a year that has resulted in a redefining of the world we've been forced to adapt to.

This year has also shown us that there is strength and resilience in the people of the town when dealing with a crisis, with many residents stepping up to help the elderly and vulnerable to ensure that their fridges were full, their loneliness was kept at bay, and their safety was ensured. If 2020 has taught us anything above all else, its that through community we thrive as a society, and it's that community we seek to serve through the launch of Weston Independent News.

Weston Independent News is entirely staffed by volunteers and we want to create an alternative space for the community to use to be kept informed of what's going on in the town. From important news articles to investigative stories, to local politics and uplifting stories of acts of kindness or heroism, long lasting love and generosity. We want to place you, the community, at the heart of what we do.

That means we want to hear your stories. So if you have a story that you think might be of interest to us get in contact by emailing westonindynews@outlook.com.

We hope you are looking forward to hearing more from us and we look forward to hearing from you.
